Connect calendars, find availability and write events from your product

450+ SaaS products build on Cronofy | 1 billion+ events processed | 99.99% uptime SLA
What is modular calendar and availability control?
A capability you deploy inside your own product, running on the infrastructure Cronofy maintains. It connects your product to users' calendars, keeps them in sync both ways, and answers who is free across everyone involved.
Calendar Connectivity
Connect every provider without building for each one
Each calendar provider has its own API and its own set of credentials to maintain.
Cronofy maintains those integrations and keeps everything in sync. When a provider goes down, cached availability and failover mean your users never see it.

Availability
Answer who is free, across everyone involved
Working hours, buffers, time zones, rooms, and multi-stage sequences all meet in one availability question.
Cronofy's availability engine takes all of it in one query, and returns an answer fast enough to put on screen.

Calendar Events
Keep your records and user calendars in sync
Meetings your product created drift the moment someone moves them, and meetings booked straight into a calendar never reach your records at all.
Cronofy writes the events your product creates, syncs the ones it didn't, and reports every change through calendar webhooks.

Building scheduling?
All of Cronofy's capabilities run on the same grid. Our managed scheduling and rescheduling capability is built on this layer, and books meetings into the calendars you already connect.
Embed our UI or build your own
Combine them in one integration, and give your AI agents a booking interface too.
Embedded
Drop Cronofy's calendar connection and availability elements straight into your product.
Headless
Ship your own custom interface with Cronofy running underneath.
Agentic
Let AI agents read availability and write events through the MCP Server.
Ship on every calendar provider
Your customers run Google, Microsoft and Apple between them, and some still run Exchange on their own servers.
Roll out to a whole organization
Adoption of your scheduling features stalls when every user has to connect their own calendar, one person at a time.
Get your engineering resources back
Calendar sync looks like a feature until it ships. Then it is auth changes, API deprecations and edge cases, for as long as the product lives.
Security and compliance
Take the objections off the table
Calendar access is the part your buyers' security teams ask hardest about.
That's why Cronofy is certified to ISO 27001, 27018 and 27701, attested to SOC 2 Type 2, and compliant with GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA.

"Our customers won't approve calendar access"
Free/busy access reads availability without reading calendar contents, and we help you through the review.
"Getting every user to authorize is a rollout problem"
Enterprise Connect authorizes a whole client organization through one admin approval.
"Some of our users have no calendar at all"
Application Calendars schedule for people without a connected calendar or email account.
"Where does the calendar data live?"
Choose from six data centers. UK, US, Canada, Germany, Australia, Singapore.
"Who else touches the meeting data?"
It runs entirely on Cronofy's own infrastructure. Cronofy is the only sub-processor.
"Will it be able to operate at our scale?"
Over 180,000 businesses connected through 450+ SaaS products, and a billion events processed.

What is Cronofy's modular calendar and availability control?
Cronofy's modular calendar and availability control is a capability you deploy inside your own product, running on the infrastructure Cronofy maintains. It is one of three capability groups on the Cronofy Temporal Grid and contains Availability, Calendar Connectivity and Calendar Events.
Which calendar providers does Cronofy support?
The calendar providers Cronofy supports include Google, Microsoft 365, Apple, and on-premise Exchange through one API, rather than one integration per provider. Providing this for on-premise Exchange is a particular differentiator in enterprise conversations. Cronofy also handles authorization and syncing as the intermediary.
Can Cronofy read availability without reading what is in someone's calendar?
Yes. Cronofy offers free/busy only, or full read and write, which can be selected when the calendar is connected. This is therefore a connection decision rather than a privacy feature, and is an important lever that can help pass an organization's security review.
Does every user have to authorize Cronofy individually?
No. Cronofy's Individual Connect is available per user, or Enterprise Connect can be used to authorize an entire client organization through one admin approval. This is more about adoption, rather than permissions. A per-user rollout means someone chasing the people who never connected.
How does Cronofy answer availability across several people at once?
Cronofy only requires one query to the availability engine, rather than a chain of calls per calendar. It accounts for working hours, buffers, time zones, rooms, availability rules, events that should not count, and meetings that have to happen in order.
Can Cronofy see meetings our platform never created?
Cronofy's Calendar Connectivity syncs the calendar itself, so meetings arrive, whoever created them. Calendar Events then links them to the platform's own record and keeps the two in sync. Cronofy links the one-to-ones and appraisals already in people's calendars to your record, so the two stay together as they move.
How does Cronofy tell us about calendar changes without polling?
With Cronofy's Calendar Webhooks, you can push calendar changes in real time, instead of polling. Cronofy posts the moment a calendar changes, and every request is HMAC-signed.
Can Cronofy schedule for users who have no calendar or email account?
Yes. Cronofy's Application Calendars can schedule for people who don't have a connected calendar of their own. This is ideal for scenarios in HCM suites which serve deskless or hourly workforces.
Can we use Cronofy's calendar and availability capabilities without using Cronofy for scheduling?
Yes. Cronofy's capabilities are modular and sit on one infrastructure. Managed scheduling and rescheduling sits on top of this infrastructure, and you can take the whole layer or just the parts that are needed.
Where does Cronofy store calendar data?
Calendar data runs on Cronofy's own infrastructure, with Cronofy as the only sub-processor. Cronofy has six data centers, in the UK, US, Canada, Germany, Australia and Singapore, all run as separate instances to maximize security and compliance.
