Our Trello Calendar Connector was launched almost two years ago. Since then, thousands of users have used it to connect their Trello boards to their calendars. This means teams can manage their project tasks and visualize deadlines directly from their calendars.

We’ve received lots of amazing feedback as well as loads of requests to add new features. The Trello Calendar Connector was initially created to help demonstrate potential uses of the Cronofy Calendar API and we were delighted to see such a positive response.

Over the last few months, we’ve been working with Trello and are pleased to announce that our Calendar Connector is now an official Trello Power-Up.

All the features of the free Calendar Connector are still available, including two-way calendar sync. When you create a card with a due date in Trello, it’s still added to your calendar automatically. Any changes you make will be carried over to your Trello boards in real-time and vice versa, too.

To get started, all you need to do is connect your calendar to your preferred Trello board. You can be up and running in just a couple of minutes.

What’s new

Now that the Trello Calendar Connector is an official Power-Up, it’s fully integrated within the Trello User Interface. Setting up and editing your calendar sync preferences is simple.

You can also set up durations for specific tasks directly via your calendar or the Trello UI.

For instance, if you’ve got a blog post to write, you can give yourself two hours to write it next Thursday. It will then appear as a two-hour event in your calendar. This feature is also particularly useful if you want to track the time it takes you or your team to complete tasks.

The Power-Up works with Google, Office 365, Apple, Exchange and Outlook.com calendars.

How much is it?

Connecting your first board is free and will stay free, even as we continue to add new features.

If you need to sync more than one board you can do it for just $0.79 a month for as many boards as you want. That’s $9.48 a year.

Looking for some inspiration?

Here are a few ideas on how to use the Trello Calendar Connector Power-Up to take your productivity to the next level and manage your tasks and deadlines more efficiently.

Avoid meetings on deadline days

Getting last-minute meeting requests when you have deadlines coming up can ruin your carefully laid plans. By syncing your Trello boards with your calendar, you can block out time automatically, based on your upcoming tasks. You’ll therefore appear as busy and won’t have to worry about meetings.

Manage your projects and never miss a deadline

Trello is the ideal tool to manage your projects as you can break them down into smaller tasks and assign cards to team members. Syncing your team’s calendars to the Trello boards make it even better.

When you assign a card with a due date to a team member Cronofy will add an event to their calendars.

Separate professional and personal commitments

If you need to link professional and personal boards to your calendars then you can easily separate and identify them by allocating a specific colour to certain tasks. You can then see at a glance how your day is shaping up.

Over to You

We can’t wait to see how you use our new Trello Power-Up. We’d also love to hear what additional features you’d find useful. Let us know on Twitter or send us an email at hello@cronofy.com.
